Greetings one and all.
As our last epistle was back in January it is high time for an update.
We are still in Auckland, although we have and will be traveling to different parts of N.Z. It has been good
to have a break and catch up on family and friends again and to enjoy the free “air-conditioning” that New Zealand offers.
We have booked to return to the Philippines on 8th July so we can carry on with the orphanage building
project. You will remember that our building plans were severely hampered by the two typhoons which swept through the area resulting in the destruction of 70,000 or more homes and hundreds of thousands being made homeless. Approximately 1100 either died or are missing.
Here are some photos (as the saying goes “a picture paints a thousand words!”) Showing what we were able to achieve during our time in Sorsogon from September to January last.
When we return we will start building with the aim of being able to accommodate the first children towards the end of the year. Nothing happens easily in the Philippines and things like building permits can take a long time to process, we are very much trusting the Lord to open doors and to provide all that is necessary. It is our desire to see the children, which are most in need of help, not hindered by a lack of resources. We would greatly value your prayers in this regard.
SHELTER: After the September 2006
Typhoon – Home to 10 people.
TYPHOON PROOF: Their new home

In September we will be joined by John’s daughter for a couple of weeks. We also welcome
anyone to come and help with the building project or in ministry to the children, the poor or with the local churches.
Thanks for your prayers and support, your rewards will be out of this world.
Prayer Points:
- We are looking to either sell or rent out our house, please pray that the Lord’s will be done.
- For Strength, good health, protection and wisdom always.
- For open doors for the building project.
- For God’s favour continually.
God Bless,
John and Nilda
